District Governor, Zone Chair and Region Awards Explanations.
Barry Palmer 2013-2014: The Dream Achiever Awards are designed to challenge and
motivate 2013-14 district governors to achieve high membership goals and
provide special
recognition to those who excel. The yearlong program is divided into four
earnings periods and points are based on four key membership goals:
EXPAND your district by chartering new clubs. Extension is key to bringing Lions
and hands-on service to underserved areas. Earn points
when you add charter members-the more you add, the more points you earn!
INVITE new members to join your clubs. Recruitment is key to strengthening clubs
and meeting community needs. Earn points by
increasing the percentage of clubs in your district with new members. The
percentage of clubs needed to earn points increases in each earnings period to
reward sustained, year round recruitment.
RETAIN your existing members. Satisfying your members is key to maintaining
healthy, long-lasting clubs. Earn points by reducing the
percentage of membership drops from the previous year. To find out how your
district performed in 2012-13, review your district’s Cumulative Report.
GROW your overall district membership. Net growth is easily achieved when you
Expand, Invite, and Retain membership in your district.
ONE-OF-A-KIND GOLD PIN
The Dream Achiever Awards Gold Pin is specially designed to reflect your
personal achievements in the program. The more you achieve, the more stars you
can add to your pin. Earn four stars to fill in your pin.
REWARDS FOR YOUR TEAM – SILVER PINS:
When you earn your Gold Pin, you’ll receive four additional Silver Pins for your
team. And when you earn a star, they earn a star.
PRESIDENTIAL AWARD:
Earn a star in all four periods - Gold or Silver - and you’ll earn a
Presidential Medal. Earn four Gold Stars and you’ll also earn four Presidential
Medals for your team.
Joe Preston 2014-2015: This Quarterly Presidential Award for Zone and Region
Chairpersons is more than an award, it is a quarterly plan for success for the
zone and region chairpersons and the clubs they support! Each quarter there is a
new opportunity to achieve an award pin featuring the presidential theme and a
paw print. Zone and Region Chairpersons who achieve the award for all four
quarters will also be recognized with a prestigious International Leadership
Award Medal.
Dr. Jitsuhiro Yamada 2015-2016: Lions Dignity Award- The Lions Dignity Award is
an exclusive rewards program designed to recognize district governors who
achieve consistent membership growth throughout the 2015-16 fiscal year.
District governors can earn a silver or gold pin for achieving positive
membership growth in their district. District Governors will earn their first
pin after achieving positive growth in their district. • Gold: Positive growth
in their district that is higher than the district’s 5-year average and charter
at least one new club.
• Silver: Positive growth in their district. District governors have the
opportunity to earn higher level awards when they earn recognition
in both earnings periods. • District governors who achieve positive growth in
Period 1 and Period 2 will be recognized with a Leadership Medal. • District
governors who achieve positive growth that is higher than the district’s 5-year
average and charter at least one new club in both Period 1 and Period 2 will
earn the highest level of recognition with a signature Lions Dignity Pin, a
Presidential Medal and four Leadership Medals to share with their team.
Presidential Zone Chairperson Award Criteria: As a zone chairperson you have a
tremendous opportunity to help the clubs in your zone advance their service,
grow their membership and achieve their goals and the Presidential Award for
Zone Chairpersons was developed to help you! The award can be achieved during
the first half or the second half of the year. The first six months is focused
on the basics…getting to know your clubs, introducing them to new strategies and
tools to help them grow stronger and taking steps to support your own personal
growth. The second six months is focused on putting the strategies learned into
practice while you continue to further your own leadership development. You will
be recognized for your achievement during either period. If you meet the
requirements for both periods, you will qualify to receive the prestigious
International Leadership Award Medal, one of the most important awards the
association has to offer and given only to Lions who have demonstrated
outstanding leadership abilities.
